Lieutenant Governor Spencer Cox welcomed attendees before speakers took the stage. The event featured talks from\u00a0Executive Director of Utah Department of Human Services\u00a0Ann Williamson,\u00a0Director of Utah Division of Substance Abuse and Mental Health\u00a0Doug Thomas,\u00a0Suicide Prevention Coordinator\u00a0Kim Myers, and\u00a0Utah State Office of Rehabilitation\u2019s Supported Employment and Transition Coordinator\u00a0Aimee Langone.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-15333\" src=\"https:\/\/ipsworks.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/art-e1516121277751-300x293.jpg\" alt=\"Lieutenant Governor Spencer Cox with Sharon Cook at The Youth Voice art show\" width=\"254\" height=\"248\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ipsworks.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/art-e1516121277751-200x195.jpg 200w, https:\/\/ipsworks.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/art-e1516121277751-300x293.jpg 300w, https:\/\/ipsworks.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/art-e1516121277751-328x320.jpg 328w, https:\/\/ipsworks.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/art-e1516121277751-400x391.jpg 400w, https:\/\/ipsworks.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/art-e1516121277751.jpg 430w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 254px) 100vw, 254px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Keynote speaker Mark Fox, the Director of\u00a0Neuro Therapy Services at Intermountain Medical Center, delivered his presentation on Employment for Individuals with Traumatic Brain Injury and Mental Illness, and keynote speaker and BMX legend Mike Aitken spoke about his own experience as a brain injury survivor and person with mental illness lived experience. Mike highlighted\u00a0the importance of employment and how it assists in his brain injury and mental illness recovery.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to the presentations and discussions, the event featured an art show.\u00a0The Youth Voice art show showcased 120 pieces of art created by Youth and Young Adults with mental illness and co-occurring disorders.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-15334\" src=\"https:\/\/ipsworks.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/buckley-e1516120793522-225x300.jpg\" alt=\"Employer of the Year Eddie Buckley\" width=\"179\" height=\"239\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ipsworks.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/buckley-e1516120793522-200x267.jpg 200w, https:\/\/ipsworks.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/buckley-e1516120793522-225x300.jpg 225w, https:\/\/ipsworks.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/buckley-e1516120793522-240x320.jpg 240w, https:\/\/ipsworks.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/buckley-e1516120793522-400x533.jpg 400w, https:\/\/ipsworks.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/buckley-e1516120793522.jpg 480w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 179px) 100vw, 179px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Eddie Buckley, Owner of 5050 BMX and Skate, won the Employer of the Year Award from the Utah Department of Human Services, Division of Substance Abuse and Mental Health\u2019s Supported Employment\/IPS. Congratulations, Eddie!<\/p>\n<p>And for the grand finale? A fantastic display from 5050 BMX and Skate professionals.
